Prince George appears to have become one of the most eligible bachelors in New Zealand after the Duke of Cambridge revealed his son has received a string of offers.

At just eight months old the baby prince seems a little too young to be involved with affairs of the heart. But when William visited a Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) base with wife Kate, he joked how they were regularly being offered potential partners for their young son.

New parents Karen and Jason Dreaver met the duke at the air force base at Whenuapai, home to more than a thousand serving airmen and women, and introduced him to their daughter Emily, who was born on July 31 last year – just nine days after George.

Karen Dreaver, 40, whose husband is an aircraft technician, said: “We mentioned how well-paired she and George would be in the future.

“William said: ‘There have been a few babies touted to us’ – he could see the funny side.”

The couple was among 200 RNZAF servicemen and women and families meeting the royal couple in a hangar at the base just outside Auckland.

Dreaver, a paramedic, added: “We were talking about the similar ages of the babies and he said how much fun they were, he was very personable.”

Emily spat out her dummy just as William approached and he gallantly stooped to pick it up. Her mum said: “He said he was well-practised at baby duties.”

And William reassured another young couple with a five-month-old baby that things get easier with the passing months. (PA)
