I wish to express my appreciation for the operatic concert organised by the Classique Foundation at the Aurora Opera House in Victoria on November 19. The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, ably conducted by Joseph Debrincat, gave a superb performance.
The invited Italian singers, tenor Francesco Anile and soprano Alessandra Rezza, who substituted Maria Pia Piscitelli, were greatly appreciated by the audience. As an encore, Mr Anile gave a fine rendering of the aria Nessun dorma from Puccini’s Turandot.
I wish to encourage all those who make such great efforts to organise concerts of this kind. I also wish to congratulate the members of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra. It is a privilege to listen to music played by such professionals.
