I am in full concurrence with my old friend Vincent A. Galea when, in his letter of July 2, he proposed that Malta should recognise the achievements of the chairman of Corinthia Group locally and overseas.

Alfred Pisani has, over the past 44 years, proved through sheer hard work, dedication, perseverance, business acumen, seriousness and good judgement what stuff a successful entrepreneur ought to be made of.

I feel greatly honoured to have had the privilege of working for Mr Pisani for over 30 years in various management positions including as his personal assistant. He is a born perfectionist and nothing short of the highest standard is acceptable to him. His thousands of employees will vouch for Mr Pisani’s qualities.

The picture of Mr and Mrs Pisani welcoming Prince Charles to the Corinthia Hotel in London evoked in me the memory of when Prince Charles’ father, the Duke of Edinburgh, inaugurated the Corinthia Palace Hotel in Attard in June 1968.

I feel credit is due to Alfred’s brothers, Joe, George and Victor, who stood by and supported their brother through thick and thin during the past 44 years and contributed in no small measure to the success of the Corinthia Group.
