A musical spectrum stretching from Sinatra’s classic croon to popular rock anthems is the source of inspiration behind this year’s edition of Strummin’ –Tribute to the Greats, which will be staged on Friday and Saturday at the Sir Temi Zammit Hall at the University of Malta, Msida.

The 11th edition of Strummin’ is once again being staged by Żgħażagħ Ħaddiema Nsara (ŻĦN) and promises two evenings of quality musical entertainment involving 60 guitarists.

The musicians will be performing songs by some of the biggest artists to emerge on the international music scene this past century.

As with previous editions, all proceeds from Strummin’ will go to a philanthropic cause and after raising €2,400 for the Malta Community Chest Fund last year, the organisers are looking forward to raise an even bigger amount in aid of the Puttinu Cares Foundation.

Strummin’ recently unveiled a new logo thanks to Isabel Micallef. Micallef’s design shows a guitar plectrum, representing the event’s most prominent tool. The group also launched a new website, www.strumminartists.com, which will be updated regularly with the latest developments related to the concert as well as with respect to the local music scene in general.

Tickets for the event are available by calling 7924 4418 or online. For more information contact Tiziana Bartolo at strummin@zhnmalta.org.
