Malta, like the rest of the world, has witnessed strong demand for the new Apple MacBook Pro notebook with Retina display, considered the best display screen for portable electronic devices right now.

“It is available in Malta but stocks have been depleted already. We are waiting for more shipments to meet the demand,” Adrian Micallef, general manager iCentre, Malta’s authorised Apple service provider, explained.

Other Apple resellers in Malta are only taking pre-bookings for this model which is not available yet to them.

Launched last month, Apple has started to install the Retina display already found on its iPhone smartphone and iPad tablet on its MacBook notebook range, starting with the 15-inch model.

Strong demand was registered despite the Retina display inflating the price of the model which is still on sale, at a lower price, with the traditional LED display.

The new MacBook Pro Retina display is the world’s highest resolution notebook display with more than five million pixels, three million more than an HD television. It features the latest Intel Core i7 quad-core processors up to 2.7 GHz with turbo boost speeds up to 3.7 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M discrete graphics, up to 16GB of faster 1600 MHz RAM and flash storage up to 768GB. Two Thunderbolt and two USB 3.0 ports allow professional users to connect to multiple displays and high performance devices, and a new HDMI port offers quick connectivity to HDTVs.
