The statue of St Anne teaching the Infant Mary to read the scriptures at the Chapel of St Anne in Fort St Angelo has been restored by the NGO Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar.

Conservator Frank Bugeja was engaged to restore the statue which had been in a bad state of deterioration.

The restoration was sponsored by Atlas Insurance as part of their corporate social responsibility.

The statue can be viewed by the public during Fort St Angelo open days.

Astrid Vella from FAA said the organisation was lately focusing on the preservation of Malta’s cultural heritage.
