Lawrence Gonzi’s decision to go ahead with the signing of the St Philip’s Hospital contract without first submitting the contract conditions to the Auditor General and the House Public Accounts Committee for scrutiny must rank as one of this Administration’s most arrogant decisions.

Would anybody who has not yet taken leave of their senses even dream of allowing someone who has the authority to act on their behalf to buy a property without first seeing the conditions of the contract and also be shown around the property but is told they will be able to see both the property and the conditions only after the signing of the contract?

This is what Gonzi is doing – when he knows he will most probably no longer be the administrator within a couple of months.
