I am writing this note in view of the article published in The Times (April 25) regarding the development project in Spinola Bay. I would like to clarify that at no point in time in the past two and a half years since I have been occupying the post of parish priest of St Julians has Joseph Cortis ever approached me on the mentioned proposal development or corresponded with me on this project. If he did so it must have surely been done with my predecessors.

I have also been informed that the Curia has been opposing this development throughout the past 10 years or so because of the way the plans had been presented in the past, whereby at one point in time the church view was going to be obstructed.

I do not intend entering into any polemics with Mr Cortis and I am writing this note just for clarity, so that facts are reported in a just and correct manner.
