A group of pupils from St Francis School, Cospicua, recently won Category A of the U4energy competition, a pan-European challenge for schools that seeks to involve pupils and teachers in reaching Europe’s ambitious climate change objectives.

Minister for Resources and Rural Affairs George Pullicino and National Student Travel Foundation secretary general Francis Stivala recently visited the school where the minister used the occasion to present certificates to 25 of the 500 students from various schools in Malta and Gozo that had taken part in the ‘alternative energy’ theme of the NSTF Science Art Contest.

The students’ entries included models of wind turbines, solar water heaters and photovoltaic cells.
