I fully agree with Rose Lee (November 16) regarding the destruction being caused by construction. A case in point is the work taking place at Dingli, a short distance from the cemetery.

A large stretch of countryside, the size of a football ground, has been taken up for building. Most of the outskirts of this village have, unfortunately, been destroyed by construction and there seems to be no end in sight to this disaster.

I appeal to the Malta Environment and Planning Authority to safeguard the natural features of our countryside and consider the hardship that those who live in the neighbourhood go through.

The sprawling concrete jungle will soon make us feel we are living in a dungeon.
