The 2018 Pet Expo will be held in Malta for the first time at the Montekristo Estates this weekend.

The two-day event will include a variety of shows dedicated to various dog, cat, bird and rabbit breeds, as well as an exhibition of exotic pets and horses, among others.

The International Cat Show will be taking place at ‘il- Palazz’ and will be proceeding over the course of both days. Organised by the Malta Feline Guardians Club, many groomed cats will be on display and awaiting their points from Topcat judges, which include breed judges Andreas Kretschmer-Kraiczek from Germany and Alina Ignor from Bulgaria.

The Malta Canine Society will also be organising an open-air Championship Dog Show, spread over both days.

The dog show will be overseen by British judge Liz Dunhill and will be taking place outdoors on the turfed grounds of the Montekristo Estates.

Pet Expo 2018 is organised by the team behind the Madagascar, ‘Id-Dinja ta l-Annimali’ programme, which airs on TVM and TVM2 respectively.

The Pet Expo is being held today and tomorrow at Montekristo in Ħal Farruġ. Entrance is free. For more information, visit the event’s Facebook page.
