Lillard scored 32 points and McCollum added 27 for the Trail Blazers, who sliced the Clippers’ lead in the best-of-seven first-round playoff series to 2-1. Center Mason Plumlee contributed six points and career playoff highs in rebounds (21) and assists (nine) for Portland, which plays host to Game 4 tonight.

Cricket: Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen will miss the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season due to a calf injury, the flamboyant stroke-maker has said. The 35-year-old faced only one ball in Rising Pune Supergiants’ match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Friday but retired hurt after he damaged the muscle when he turned sharply back to the crease when he aborted an attempted single. “Over & out, India! Injuries are all part of the job! Horrible tear in my calf!” Pietersen said on his Instagram account.

Rugby Sevens: New Zealand’s rugby sevens side suffered a major blow in their preparations for the Rio Olympics after loose forward Ardie Savea opted to withdraw from contention in order to concentrate on the 15-man game. The 22-year-old openside flanker had played in two tournaments in the sevens World Series in Wellington and Sydney before returning to Super Rugby duty with the Hurricanes. Savea had been expected to be available for the final two tournaments in Paris and London next month , but New Zealand Rugby said he would not vie for selection.
