Rugby Union: England lock Courtney Lawes has been ruled out of Saturday’s Six Nations clash against Wales due to an ankle injury and replaced in the training squad by uncapped second row Ed Slater. Lawes has played a part in all three of England’s victories in the competition so far, twice coming off the bench, but sustained the injury playing for Northampton against Saracens on Saturday.

Clarkson, who returned after sitting out Friday’s loss to the Atlanta Hawks, connected on 10 of 21 shots from the floor and four of six 3-pointers as Los Angeles earned the biggest upset of the NBA season.

Rallying: Jari-Matti Latvala clinched his maiden Mexico Rally title on Sunday. The Finn finished one minute and five seconds ahead of world champion Sebastien Ogier, his Volkswagen team-mate, and Hyundai’s Dani Sordo, who was a further two-and-a-half minutes back. “This is a fightback and it’s a fantastic feeling,” he said. “I had such a difficult start to the season with two rallies and zero points.”

American Football, NFL: Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has decided to retire from the NFL, bringing an end to a career that will surely land him in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the team said. Manning, who turns 40 later this month, will be going out on top after helping the Broncos to a Super Bowl upset victory last month over the Carolina Panthers, in a development first reported by ESPN.
