Snooker: Home favourite Neil Robertson stormed into the quarter-finals of the Australian Goldfields Open in Bendigo with a devastating whitewash of Jamie Jones. The former world champion, looking for a second ranking tournament victory of the season after winning the Wuxi Classic in China at the weekend, reeled off breaks of 103, 86, 140 and 80 to secure his passage in a 5-0 rout, and will meet Robert Milkins in the last eight. Judd Trump will join Robertson in the next round after beating Scot Alan McManus. Trump raced into a 3-0 lead before McManus hit back to win three of the next four frames, only to succumb in the eighth to lose 5-3.

In early June Bolt withdrew from meetings at the Ostrava World Challenge and Paris Diamond League meet because he felt his conditioning was not at his required standard.
