Cricket: Cricket Australia (CA) announced a A$590 million ($572.92 million) broadcast agreement with Channels Nine and Ten yesterday, confident the new deal will help them attract the best young athletes in the country to the sport. Collectively, the board’s domestic and international rights to telecast cricket for the next five years add up to more than A$840 million. CA’s overall broadcast revenue figure could go even higher with extra cash from foreign broadcast deals.

Tennis: World number six Li Na will compete in the Aegon Inter-national in Eastbourne in preparation for Wimbledon. Li, who won the 2011 French Open, joins the likes of Agnieszka Radwanska and Sara Errani – world ranked four and five respectively – as well as fellow top-10 players Petra Kvitova, Caroline Wozniacki and An-gelique Kerber.

Rugby League: New Zealand Warriors rugby league club have been handed a A$15,000 ($14,600) fine after one of their players was caught short and urinated on the pitch during a match against the Brisbane Broncos on Monday. On the Lang Park pitch where union’s British and Irish Lions will face Queensland Reds next weekend and the Wallabies in the first test on June 22, prop Russell Packer was caught by the TV camera urinating through his shorts.

Basket, NBA: Miami Heat reached their third straight NBA Finals with an emphatic 99-76 game seven win over Indiana Pacers on Monday to set up a clash with San Antonio Spurs. A loss for the defending champions in game six in Indiana had raised major questions over the form of Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh but they delivered when it mattered along with an almost inevitable game high 32 points from league MVP LeBron James.
