Britain’s Wiggins, who crashed on a descent on Friday, remained fourth overall, one minute and 16 seconds behind leader Vincenzo Nibali. Ahead of the favourites, Russia’s Maxim Belkov secured the first win of his career aged 28 when he completed a 140-km breakaway through hilly terrain 44 seconds ahead of Colombians Carlos Betancur and Jarlinson Pantano.

Basket, NBA: Marc Gasol scored 20 points as the Memphis Grizzlies saw off the Oklahoma City Thunder 87-81 to claim the upperhand in their Western Conference semi-final series.
