GOLF: Indian star Jeev Milkha Singh has been named for the Asian team to take on Europe at next month’s Royal Trophy, organi-sers said yesterday. Singh joins South Korean Major-winner Y.E. Yang and Japan’s Ryo Ishikawa for the event in Brunei from December 14 to 16. Singh, 41, withdrew from the Singa-pore Open after shooting six-over 77 in the first round, as he struggles to recover from a finger injury sustained in July during his victory at the Scottish Open.

MOTOR RACING: Formula One drivers have been warned to cut out the swearing after Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen turned the air blue in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. Following Raikkonen’s victory, and with Vettel finishing third, both drivers were interviewed by former F1 driver David Coulthard on the podium at the Yas Marina circuit. Both the 32-year-old Finn and 25-year-old German used very strong expletives as they summed up their feelings, resulting in the FIA reminding the championship drivers of their responsibilities when it comes to speaking to the media, particularly when taking part in a live broadcast, as was the case on Sunday.

RUGBY UNION: New Zealand have made 10 changes for the Test with Scotland, but captain Richie McCaw and fly-half Dan Carter will start tomorrow’s clash at Murrayfield. New Zealand take on the Scots eager to erase the memory of their 18-18 draw with Australia in their last Test outing on October 20. The All Blacks were seeking a 17th successive win in Brisbane, but had to settle for a draw in a match which saw them fail to score a try for the first time since August 2004, a run of 105 fixtures.
