Hummels: Bayern Munich defender Mats Hummels will miss the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Real Madrid after injuring his ankle, the club confirmed yesterday. Hummels came on as a substitute in Bayern’s 4-1 Bundesliga victory over Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, but broke down in training yesterday after getting a knock on his ankle.

Bundesliga: Hertha Berlin boosted their hopes of playing in European competition next season with a 2-0 home victory over troubled Augsburg yesterday, while Ingolstadt eased their relegation concerns with a 3-2 home win over struggling Darmstadt. In a one-sided match, John Anthony Brooks and Valentin Stocker scored first-half goals as Hertha moved above Freiburg and FC Cologne into fifth place on 43 points, with six games to play.

Cuadrado: Juventus are close to securing a permanent deal for Chelsea winger Juan Cuadrado for £21.4m, according to calciomercato.com. The Colombian struggled for game time at Stamford Bridge but has flourished with the Serie A champions, and is set to move there on a permanent deal in the summer.
