Koke: Spain midfielder Koke was robbed at gunpoint in Madrid yesterday by an attacker who took his luxury watch but did not harm him physically, a spokesman for the player said. The Atletico Madrid star was driving his car into a parking lot in the central Chamberi neighbourhood and had opened the window to take a ticket when he was approached by a gunman wearing dark clothing and a motorcycle helmet.
Mane: Liverpool winger Sadio Mane requires knee surgery and will miss the rest of the season, manager Juergen Klopp said yesterday. Mane suffered the injury during Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Everton in the Premier League last weekend. “Pretty sure Mane needs surgery and then it is season over. Impossible that he will play again this season,” Klopp said.
Rodgers: Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has been rewarded with a new four-year contract that will keep him at the club till 2021 after winning the Scottish Premiership in his first season. Rodgers was appointed by Celtic on a 12-month rolling contract last May. He led the club to their sixth consecutive title earlier this month.
