Biraschi: Genoa completed the transfer of centre-half Davide Biraschi from Avellino for a fee of €1.6m. The transfer marks a continuation of the 22-year-old’s stock rising as he was only released last year by Lega Pro side Grosseto. He then helped Avellino achieve a mid-table finish in Serie B.

Cavaleiro: Wolves have signed winger Ivan Cavaleiro from Monaco for an undisclosed fee. Cavaleiro, 22, has put pen to paper on a five-year contract and has the option of a further year with the Championship club. Carvaleiro progressed through Benfica’s youth system.

Aguero: Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has been allowed an extra 24 hours for his appeal against an English FA charge of violent conduct. The club said their officials dealing with the paperwork were heavily involved with transfer negotiations yesterday, so the FA had agreed to an extra day’s grace.

New Agents: Southampton favourites Matt Le Tissier and Francis Benali will become football agents after launching their own management company. The pair have set up 73 Management and believe they can represent players for the good of their careers rather than to look for easy-money deals. The company’s name comes from the shirt numbers Le Tissier and Benali – both now 47 – wore at Southampton as they made over 900 top-flight appearances between them.

Leipzig: Bundesliga newcomers RB Leipzig have confirmed the signing of Kyriakos Papadopoulos from Bayer Leverkusen on loan. The Greece defender, formerly a target of Liverpool, links up once again with Leipzig’s director of sport Ralf Rangnick, who was his coach when they won the DFB-Pokal together with Schalke in 2011. Injury limited Papadopoulos to just 10 starts in the league last season for Leverkusen.

Ramalho: Mainz have taken Brazilian midfielder Andre Ramalho on loan from Bundesliga rivals Bayer Leverkusen for the rest of the season. The 24-year-old, who joined Leverkusen from Salzburg just a year ago, has been drafted in as additional cover for the injured Danny Latza.
