De Jong: Newcastle forward Siem De Jong has joined Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven on a season-long loan. The 27-year-old has only managed 26 appearances, just seven of them starts, during an injury-plagued two years in the north east. De Jong has scored just twice during his time on Tyneside and will now return to Holland and link up with his brother Luuk, who also spent time on loan at St James’ Park during the 2013/14 season, at PSV.

Kruse: Werder Bremen have suffered their second setback in as many days with the news that new signing Max Kruse has torn knee ligaments. The 28-year-old picked up the injury in Bremen’s shock defeat to Sportfreunde Lotte in the first round of the DFB-Pokal at the weekend. He will travel to Munich for further examination today but is expected to be sidelined for several months.

Hennings: Burnley’s Rouwen Hennings is heading back to Germany for the remainder of the season after agreeing a loan deal with Fortuna Dusseldorf. The 28-year-old moved to Turf Moor last summer but failed to dislodge first-choice pair Sam Vokes and Andre Gray and scored just twice as Sean Dyche’s side were promoted back to the top flight.

Everton: New Everton signings Ashley Williams and Yannick Bolasie are set for their full debuts in the EFL Cup second-round clash with Yeovil at Goodison Park tonight. Striker Romelu Lukaku, who made his first appearance of the season on Saturday as a substitute, is also set to start.

Kaboul: Younes Kaboul could make his Watford debut against Gillingham in the EFL Cup following his switch from Sunderland. But fellow new signing Roberto Pereyra is awaiting a work permit having completed his move from Serie A champions Juventus. Summer arrival Isaac Success could be involved if he can shake off a hamstring problem but Ben Watson is still suspended.
