Rohr: German manager Gernot Rohr has signed a two-year deal to become technical adviser to the Nigeria national team, the African country’s football federation said yesterday. The 63-year-old has extensive experience of African football after stints with Gabon, Niger and Burkina Faso, and will work alongside Salisu Yusuf, who was named as the NFF’s head coach in July. Nigeria have twice failed to qualify for the Nations Cup since winning the continental title in 2013.

Sanchez: Greek champions Olympiakos Piraeus have parted company with Spanish coach Victor Sanchez, they said in a statement on the club website yesterday. Former Olympiakos assistant manager Sanchez succeeded Marco Silva as head coach on June 23, but his side were stunned in the Champions League third qualifying round when they lost to Israeli champions Hapoel Beer Sheva. Olympiakos won their 43rd Greek title last season after finishing on 85 points, 27 ahead of their closest rivals Panathinaikos.

Cabezas: Young Ecuadorian Bryan Cabezas completed his move to Italy’s Atalanta yesterday. The 19-year-old midfielder is a former Independiente del Valle player and helped his former club to the Copa Libertadores final which they lost to Colombia’s Atletico Nacional last month. Despite his young age, Cabezas has already made over 70 appearances in top flight football in Ecuador.

Page: Coventry City announced they have signed full-back Lewis Page on a five-month loan from West Ham United. The 20-year-old progressed through the West Ham academy and made his debut for the London Premier League club in 2015 before spending a month on loan with Cambridge. Page will now stay at League One side Coventry until January 12.

Edouard: Paris St Germain youngster Odsonne Edouard has joined Toulouse on loan for this season. The 18-year-old forward made his mark as France won last year’s UEFA European Under-17 Championship, with eight goals in five games including a hat-trick in the final as Germany were dispatched 4-1. He further enhanced his reputation with a goal against Leicester in July 31’s friendly and will now have the opportunity to prove his worth in Ligue 1.
