Grant: Ipswich Town have announced the signing of Tottenham winger Grant Ward. The 21-year-old has signed a three-year deal at Portman Road with the option of a 12-month extension. Ward was on loan at Championship side Rotherham last season where he made 43 appearances, scoring two goals.

Quagliarella: Veteran Fabio Quagliarella is being mentioned in a move away from Sampdoria this summer. Reports said Sassuolo coach Eusebio Di Francesco wants to add Quagliarella, 33, to his squad to bolster his attacking options. With Samp having signed Patrik Schick and Ante Budimir in the off-season, Quagliarella will fall behind in the pecking order but at Sassuolo he could play up front with Domenic Berardi.

Rahman: Schalke are closing in on completing the season-long loan signing of Chelsea defender Baba Rahman. The Ghana full-back has met up with the Schalke squad for pre-season training, ahead of finalising the formalities on his loan switch from Stamford Bridge. Rahman made 23 appearances for Chelsea last term, but has been deemed surplus to immediate requirements this year.

Super PSV: Davy Propper’s first-half strike proved decisive as champions PSV Eindhoven beat cup winners Feyenoord 1-0 in the Dutch Super Cup at the Amsterdam Arena. It was the 11th time that PSV had won the opening game of the Dutch season, which is named after revered Dutch footballer Johan Cruyff, who died last year. PSV captain Luuk de Jong missed a penalty before Propper scored on 38 minutes after some sloppy Feyenoord defending.

Menez: Bordeaux have completed the signing of France international Jeremy Menez from Milan. The 29-year-old winger, who won the last of his 24 caps in 2013, passed a medical yesterday and signed a three-year contract with the Ligue 1 side.

Matri: Greek club PAOK are showing keen interest in unsettled Milan striker Alessandro Matri. He left Juventus in 2013 to play for the Rossoneri but has been sent on a series of loan spells since, including at Serie A rivals Lazio last season. According to Sky Italia, PAOK have made their first bid, but it seems that Matri is not particularly keen with a move away from the Serie A even though he did not reject the offer.
