Hagi Jr: Fiorentina have signed Ianis Hagi, the son of Gheorghe, from Romanian side FC Viitorul. The 16-year-old midfielder made 31 league appearances for Viitorul last season, scoring three goals. Hagi became the youngest captain in Romanian league history in August 2015 while he has also represented Romania at youth level up to the U-18s. Gheorghe Hagi had spells at Real Madrid, Barcelona and Galatasaray during his career and won 125 caps for Romania.

Correa: Sevilla are set to sign Sampdoria midfielder Joaquin Correa on a five-year deal. The 21-year-old Argentine only joined Sampdoria from Estudiantes in December 2014 and made a total of 31 Serie A appearances, scoring three goals. The fee for Correa is reported to be €13 million, with another five million euros due in bonuses.

Fatal accident: The captain of Spanish third division club Linares Deportivo died after an accident in a hotel gym, last week. Fran Carles, 26, sustained a thigh injury causing a haemorrhage that spread to his kidneys and other organs. His coffin was carried around the club’s ground on Saturday where over 4,000 fans had gathered to pay their respects before his funeral. “There are no words to express the deep sorrow we feel,” said a club statement.

Nagy: Reports yesterday said that Bologna are close to signing Hungary midfielder Adam Nagy after reaching agreement with his club Ferencvaros. Sky Sport Italia said the deal is practically done and that the player is expected to fly in for a medical today. Nagy, 21, had been linked with other clubs including Marseille and Leicester.
