Ake: Nathan Ake has joined Bournemouth on a season-long loan from Chelsea. The Dutchman, who can play at left-back and in midfield, spent last season on loan at Watford. Ake is a Netherlands Under-21 international.
Zahavi: Maccabi Tel Aviv forward Eran Zahavi signed a deal with Chinese side Guangzhou for an Israeli record transfer fee of $8 million yesterday. Including personal terms, Zahavi’s 30-month contract with Guangzhou was worth $12.5 million, a Maccabi official said. Zahavi, 28, who is also the national team captain, led Maccabi to three consecutive Israeli league titles between 2012 and 2015.
Sels: Newcastle have signed goalkeeper Matz Sels from Belgian side Gent for an undisclosed fee. Sels, 24, has signed a five-year contract after the two clubs agreed a re-ported fee of around £4.5m. He is Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez’s first summer signing.
Ocampos: Genoa have signed Marseille playmaker Lucas Ocampos on loan with the option of making the move a permanent transfer. The 21-year-old Argentinian has been with OM for a season and a half, having joined from Monaco in a similar deal in February 2015. He scored on his debut against Bastia and played a key role under then-coach Marcelo Bielsa, but struggled for game time last season after his compatriot resigned following the opening game of the campaign.
Hulk: Zenit St Petersburg forward Hulk arrived in Shanghai yesterday to complete his potential move to Chinese club Shanghai SIPG, in a deal which could break the Asian transfer record for the third time in five months. Shanghai will reportedly spend €56 million to secure the services of the 29-year-old, which will break the previous record of €50 million that Jiangsu Suning paid for midfielder Alex Teixeira in February.
