Bale: Welsh forward Gareth Bale has suffered a knee injury, his club Real Madrid have announced. Real are one point behind leaders Barcelona in the title race and it has been reported that Bale will miss the penultimate league game of the season against Valencia tomorrow.

Final Cancelled: Today’s Greek Cup final between league champions Olympiakos and AEK Athens has been postponed at the request of the police. The match was due to be held behind closed doors due to crowd violence. However, a nationwide 48-hour strike by various trade unions that began yesterday meant the police did not have the resources to oversee the game.

Randolph In: West Ham are without first-choice goalkeeper Adrian for today’s home game with Swansea City, their penultimate fixture at the Boleyn Ground before the club move to the Olympic Stadium. The Spaniard is likely to miss the rest of the season with a calf problem and will be replaced by Darren Randolph. “We have one player injured and that’s Adrian,” manager Slaven Bilic told reporters yesterday.

No Drink: Eurostar plans to ban alcohol on some trains during the Euro 2016 European football tournament in France, which starts on June 10. A spokesman for the operator said that on some of its services between London and French cities, alcoholic drinks would not be sold and would be confiscated from passengers if found during screening at border controls. Euro 2016 runs for a month. Some 2.5 million spectators are expected at 10 stadiums for 51 matches involving 24 national teams.

Hefty Sanctions: FC Goa are facing hefty sanctions for a raft of infractions in the Indian Super League, including accusations of match-fixing and failing to fulfil formal and media duties following their ISL final defeat to Chennaiyin last year. Should the outfit coached by former Brazilian great Zico fail to lodge a successful appeal against the penalties, Goa will be docked 15 points next season and fined 110 million rupees ($1.65m). Additionally, a pair of club owners will be banned for three and two years respectively.
