Negredo: Alvaro Negredo struck in stoppage-time to give stuttering Valencia a 2-1 win over former club Sevilla and earn coach Pako Ayesteran victory in his first home game in charge since succeeding Gary Neville. Daniel Parejo’s deflected free kick in the 41st minute opened the scoring for Valencia, who had not won in La Liga since March 2, but Kevin Gameiro levelled in the 86th. Negredo, however, restored the home side’s advantage a minute into stoppage time.

Rangers: Rangers finally claimed the Petrofac Training Cup at the fourth time of asking after crushing Peterhead 4-0 at Hampden. The Ibrox men had suffered three previous humiliating exits from the lower-league knock-out competition but there was never any danger of a repeat after Ally Gilchrist’s own goal put Mark Warburton’s side ahead. James Tavernier smashed home a stunning volley for the second while late goals from Andy Halliday and Kenny Miller got the party started.

Hummels: Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels is still contemplating a move away from the Bundesliga club, with his contract set to expire at the end of next season. “I don’t necessarily want to leave, but I have to make a big decision. I have been back and forth a lot,” Hummels told Bild on Sunday. “Age gives you a feeling that you don’t have forever to win. I realise in every year I don’t win a title, I’m closer to retiring.”

Manolas: Chelsea have met with officials from Roma to discuss the sale of defender Kostas Manolas, according to reports on Calciomercato.com. The Greece international, 24, is jointly owned by the Giallorossi and Olympiakos and has a contract at the Stadio Olimpico until the summer of 2019.

Feghouli: Tottenham are set to rival Inter for Valencia midfielder Sofiane Feghouli, according to reports. The 26-year-old, who has also attracted interest from Fenerbahce, is expected to leave the La Liga club as a free agent this summer. And, with no transfer fee to pay, Plaza Deportiva claim Spurs are ready to better the €3million-a-year wage offer from Valencia in a bid to bring the Algeria international to White Hart Lane.
