Cocu: PSV Eindhoven coach Phillip Cocu has officially signed a contract extension running until 2019. The former Holland midfielder, who won the Eredivisie title with the club last season, verbally agreed a new deal in December and he has now formally committed his future to the Philips Stadion.

Aston Villa: Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner will take a backseat in the running of the club after announcing the appointment of Steve Hollis as chairman. American owner Lerner has confirmed Hollis, a former deputy chairman of Birmingham Metropolitan College, as his replacement at Villa Park. Lerner had promised to step down as chairman last May if he failed to sell the club, who are bottom of the Premier League, last summer.

Carroll: West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has confirmed Andy Carroll is facing up to six weeks out with his latest injury setback. The luckless Hammers striker suffered a hamstring problem just 12 minutes into Tuesday night’s 3-1 win at Bournemouth.

Charlton: Charlton have re-appointed Jose Riga as their head coach on an 18-month contract. The 58-year-old’s arrival follows the sacking of his predecessor Karel Fraeye, who worked at the club on an interim basis, and makes him their third appointment of what has been a disappointing season.
