Batshuayi: Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi, a reported transfer target for Tottenham and Newcastle, has signed a new deal with the Ligue 1 club. The 22-year-old has committed his future to Marseille until 2020, the club said on their official website. Marseille defender Benjamin Mendy has also signed a contract extension until 2019.

Kirchhoff: Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce’s hopes of landing Bayern Munich’s Jan Kirchhoff have received a boost after the defender was left out of his club’s mid-season trip to Qatar. The 25-year-old was not among a party of 29 which left for Doha yesterday, with Bayern confirming he had been left behind to push through a move. The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Schalke.

Belhanda: Schalke are set to complete the loan signing of Morocco midfielder Younes Belhanda from Dynamo Kiev. The Bundesliga club said the 25-year-old would undergo a medical at the club’s winter training camp in Orlando. “If all the tests go smoothly and we complete all the paperwork, we can assume that Younes Belhanda will be with us on loan,” sporting director Horst Heldt said.

Shot: Nigerian football official Ibrahim Abubakar was shot dead by armed robbers yesterday, the Nigeria Football Federation has announced. The NFF said their head of protocol was killed by burglars in his house in Abuja.

Jones: Cardiff striker Kenwyne Jones has completed a loan move to Al Jazira. The move had been mooted over the weekend and Jones, 31, was in the UAE to finalise the deal on Tuesday. Jones joined Southampton from W Connection in Trinidad and Tobago and made big-money moves to Sunderland and Stoke before joining Cardiff in January 2014.

Bisevac: Lazio have announced the signing of Serbian defender Milan Bisevac. The 32-year-old arrived yesterday and has signed a reported two-and-a-half-year contract. Former Paris St Germain player Bisevac will provide cover for Stefan de Vrij. In November the Dutch centre-back was ruled out for six months with a knee injury.
