Van der Wiel: Inter are reportedly close to signing right-back Gregory van der Wiel from Paris St Germain. The 27-year-old will be out of contract next June and he is keen to move elsewhere. Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo reported the two clubs are in advanced negotiations for a January transfer which could cost Inter €4m to get the Dutch international. Van der Wiel joined PSG in 2012.

Arter: Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe will make a late decision on whether to include Harry Arter in the squad for their clash against Arsenal today. Arter was brought off at half-time in the Boxing Day goalless draw with Crystal Palace after he picked up an early yellow card and Howe said it was to “manage his workload” after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Collins: James Collins has put pen to paper on a new contract with West Ham. The 32-year-old centre-back would have been out of contract at the end of the season but he has now committed himself to the Hammers until 2018. Collins has made 160 appearances for West Ham across two spells, having re-joined the club in 2012 after three years at Aston Villa.

Alvarez: Ricky Alvarez will complete his move to Sampdoria next month after a legal battle between Inter and Sunderland. According to reports, the Argentine will begin work with Vincenzo Montella’s squad this week. Alvarez was on loan at Sunderland from Inter, but the English club did not want to make the option to buy mandatory. FIFA is widely reported they will side with Inter and order Sunderland to pay compensation.
