Fossum: Hanover have completed the signing of Norway U-21 international Iver Fossum from Stromsgodset. The 19-year-old arrives at the HDI-Arena on a four-and-a-half-year deal and has reportedly cost the Bundesliga outfit £1.5 million. Fossum signed a professional contract with Stromsgodset in the autumn of 2012.

Moldova: Former Soviet Union and Russia midfielder Igor Dobrovolskiy has been named as the head coach of Moldova, the country’s football federation said. The 48-year-old, who has already coached the Moldovan national team between 2006 and 2009, has signed a two-year contract. Moldova managed to collect just two points in trying to qualify for the Euro 2016 finals and finished last in Group G.

Toney: Newcastle have recalled striker Ivan Toney from his loan spell at League One Barnsley as they await news on Papiss Cisse’s groin injury. Senegal international Cisse is set to miss the Christmas programme as the Magpies seek a second opinion on the damage which forced him off during the first half of Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Aston Villa.

Ricoh Arena: Coventry will continue playing at the Ricoh Arena until at least 2018. Aviva Premiership club Wasps and the League One side announced in a joint statement that Ricoh Arena operators Arena Coventry Limited had extended the current licence agreement with the football club until the end of the 2017-18 season.

Bradley: US captain Michael Bradley, a midfielder who also captains Toronto FC in Major League Soccer, was voted the 2015 US player of the year. The 28-year-old, previously honoured as the young player of the year in 2007, received 43 per cent of the votes, followed by Fabian Johnson (33 per cent) and Clint Dempsey (20 per cent).
