Sturridge: Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has taken another step towards regaining full fitness by training with the rest of his team-mates yesterday. The 26-year-old has yet to be available to Jurgen Klopp after sustaining a knee injury on the eve of the new manager’s first match at Tottenham on October 17.

Chievo: A study showed that Serie A side Chievo have the oldest average squad in Europe. Swiss statistical institute CIES has collected data from across Europe’s top-flight leagues, which shows that Chievo’s average age of 30.6 is the highest on the continent. Albano Bizzarri, the 38-year-old keeper, is Chievo’s oldest player.

Williamson: Newcastle United defender Mike Williamson has had his loan spell at Championship side Wolves extended until January. Williamson joined Wolves on an initial one-month loan deal in October but will now stay until January 16. The 32-year-old has so far played three times for Kenny Jackett’s side, during which the club have conceded just one goal.

Palace investment: Crystal Palace expect to soon announce new investment in the club from Americans David Blitzer and Josh Harris. The duo, who co-own the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers and NHL’s New Jersey Devils, are close to completing a deal to take 18 per cent of the London club, equal to co-chairman Steve Parish, who will retain control on a day-to-day basis.

Miller: Kenny Miller has signed a one-year extension to his current contract with Rangers, the Ibrox club has confirmed. The 35-year-old striker is in his third spell with the Light Blues and has scored five goals in 13 appearances this season. Miller has also taken on a coaching role with the’ U-20s team.

Fans banned: Monaco has banned Anderlecht fans from entering the principality on November 26 when its Ligue 1 club takes on Belgians Anderlecht in the Europa League following last Friday’s attacks in Paris. “This follows the dramatic events that happened in Paris, prompting the principality to raise its vigilance level,” Monaco said.
