Durm: Borussia Dortmund’s Erik Durm will be out for six weeks after undergoing surgery on a knee injury. The Bundesliga side have confirmed that the defender, who has yet to feature for the Bundesliga side this season, went under the knife on Wednesday. The 23-year-old also missed out on Germany’s Euro 2016 qualifying wins over Poland and Scotland.

TV Deal: Scottish football’s main television deal has been extended by three seasons. The Scottish Professional Football League has announced that Sky Sports and BT Sport will continue to broadcast live Ladbrokes Premiership matches until the summer of 2020 – on “improved terms”. The current deal, which is worth about £15 million per annum, was due to expire at the end of next season.

Simunovic: Celtic boss Ronny Deila believes new signing Jozo Simunovic could turn out to be as good as Virgil van Dijk. Croatian Simunovic was brought in from Dinamo Zagreb as a replacement for the Dutch defender with his fee reported as high as £5.5 million. “I think he has the potential,” said the Norwegian. “We have scouted Jozo for a long time and we think he has the attributes that (means) we can make him a big player.”

Gueye: Aston Villa midfielder Idrissa Gueye is in a race against time to face Leicester. The 25-year-old suffered a hamstring injury during Senegal’s 2-0 African Cup of Nations qualifier win over Namibia. Manager Tim Sherwood said: “He was the one player we didn’t want to lose because he’s playing so well. He picked up a hamstring injury in the 75th minute of the game so I’m hoping that it’s just fatigue.”

Wilson: Derby head coach Paul Clement has confirmed he has enquired about Manchester United striker James Wilson. Despite selling Javier Hernandez to Bayer Leverkusen and allowing Adnan Januzaj to join Borussia Dortmund on loan, United look likely to allow Wilson to leave on loan. “It is a possibility but not a certainty,” said Clement. “We have shown an interest. He is a very talented player and we are waiting to hear back from Manchester United.”

McCoist: Rangers chairman Dave King has confirmed the club have agreed a pay-off deal with former boss Ally McCoist – nine months after he quit his post. A 12-month notice period was triggered after McCoist fell out with the previous administration running the club last season as his side’s promotion bid faltered.
