Neto: Juventus have signed Brazilian goalkeeper Neto to serve as understudy and potential long-term successor to Gianluigi Buffon. Neto, 25, has signed a four-year deal after spending four-and-a-half seasons with Fiorentina, where he has been first choice for the past two years and made 101 appearances. Neto has also been in the international frame for Brazil, and was part of the squad for this summer’s Copa America finals.

Burns: Australia striker Nathan Burns is on the verge of joining Tokyo FC after terms were agreed between the J-league side and his A-League team Wellington Phoenix. Burns, who was part of Australia‘s successful Asian Cup campaign in January, won the Johnny Warren Medal as the best player in the A-League last season. The 27-year-old was flying to Japan for a medical, Phoenix general manager David Dome said.

Hernandez: Mexico striker Javier Hernandez had surgery on a fractured collarbone on Thursday and will be out for four weeks missing the Gold Cup, the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) said. Hernandez was injured during Mexico‘s 0-0 draw with Honduras in Houston on Wednesday, a warm-up for both teams for the tournament in the United States which kicks off next Tuesday.

Holebas: Watford have confirmed the signing of Greece international defender Jose Holebas. The 31-year-old has left Serie A runners-up Roma and signed a three-year deal with the Hornets. Watford confirmed the news on Thursday night in a tweet which read: “Greece international defender Jose Holebas signs a 3-yr deal with #watfordfc after joining from Italy Serie A runners-up AS Roma.”

Brunst: Wolfsburg have signed goalkeeper Alexander Brunst from Hamburg. Hamburg announced that their third-choice goalkeeper had made the switch to the Bundesliga runners-up yesterday. “HSV and Bundesliga title runners-up VfL Wolfsburg have reached agreement on a deal which will take Rothosen third-choice keeper Alexander Brunst to the VW Arena,” Hamburg SV said.
