Bamford: Striker Patrick Bamford will remain with Middlesbrough for the rest of the season after extending his loan from Chelsea. The 21-year-old moved to the Riverside at the end of August and has scored eight times in 19 appearances for Boro, who occupy a spot in the Championship play-offs. “He loves to be here, we love him here, the squad wants him here and the crowd loves him,” Boro boss Aitor Karanka said on the club’s official website.

In Israel: Maccabi Tel Aviv won their first silverware of the season when they beat Maccabi Haifa 2-1 in the Israeli Toto Cup final on Wednesday in a match that included two own goals and a retaken penalty. The Tel Aviv side, on course for a hat-trick of league titles, are the most dominant side in the Israeli game and their sharper play sunk Haifa who named a new coach, Marco Balbul, this week.

Guingamp: Yannis Salibur has joined Guingamp from Clermont Foot, the Ligue 2 side have announced. The 23-year-old joined Ligue 1’s Guingamp on a three-and-a-half-year deal, according to L’Equipe. A statement on Clermont’s official website said: “Yannis Salibur has joined the En Avant Guingamp in Ligue 1 from the second half of the season.”

Gray: Birmingham have rejected a £1.5 million bid from Bourne-mouth for Demarai Gray. The Cherries’ offer has been swiftly turned down by the Blues, who are under no pressure to sell the England Under-19 international. Press Association Sport reported that Birmingham would not sell the highly-rated 18-year-old for such a low fee. The Blues have offered Gray a two-year contract extension – his current deal expires in 2016 – in a bid to keep him at St Andrew’s.
