Wilshere out: Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere will miss today’s Champions League home game against Borussia Dortmund with an ankle injury, manager Arsene Wenger said. Wenger said Wilshere needs to see a specialist after damaging his ankle during the weekend Premier League defeat by Manchester United. “He has a big ankle sprain,” Wenger told reporters. “I don’t want to say how bad it is because I’m not a specialist medically. The first news is that he will be out for the next few games.”

Arrested: Nearly 100 Ajax fans wielding iron bars and wearing ski masks were arrested in Paris on the eve of the Champions League match between the Dutch club and Paris SG, police said yesterday. Many of the 95 supporters stopped for questioning in the west of Paris on Monday night did not have tickets for last night’s match at the Parc des Princes.

Pele: Three-times World Cup winner Pele was taken to hospital on Monday with an urinary infection, the second time this month he has been admitted for medical treatment. The 74-year old former Brazil player was admitted to the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo but officials there released only a brief statement with no details about his condition.

Berahino: Saido Berahino is to be interviewed by police after being arrested on suspicion of drink-driving. The West Brom striker was stopped for travelling at “high speed” on the M6 motorway in the early hours of the morning yesterday. And when officers spoke to Berahino, he was then arrested on suspicion of drink-driving. The 21-year-old was interviewed and bailed and must go back to a police station to speak again with officers following his arrest last month.

Curcic: Serbia have named Radovan Curcic their coach until the end of the team’s 2018 World Cup campaign after his impressive record with the Under-21s, the Balkan nation’s football association (FSS) announced. “He will stay in charge for the remainder of the current qualifying campaign and the next one,”the FSS said.
