Durm: Borussia Dortmund left back Erik Durm has extended his contract with last season’s Bundesliga runners-up by two years to 2019. Durm was a World Cup winner with Germany in July following a meteoric improvement last season that resulted in a surprise call-up. He had joined Dortmund in 2012 but had to wait for his Bundesliga debut until last August.

Negredo: Valencia have sealed a deal to take Spain forward Alvaro Negredo on loan from Manchester City. The Spanish top-flight outfit, who are in the process of being taken over by Singapore billionaire Peter Lim, did not say how long the loan deal was for. Postiga: Deportivo La Coruna have snapped up well-travelled forward Helder Postiga, hours after he was released by Valencia. Depor will become the ninth club of the 32-year-old’s professional career after his contract was terminated by Valencia, who also announced the departure of Jonathan Viera.

Gabbidon: Veteran defender Danny Gabbidon has returned to Cardiff as player-coach. Gabbidon, 35, was a free agent after his release by Crystal Palace last season and has been offered a dual role with the side he made his name at between 2000 and 2005. The Wales international has agreed a one-year deal.

Doyle: Ireland striker Kevin Doyle has joined newly-promoted Premier League club Crystal Palace on a four-month loan deal from Championship side Wolves. He will boost manager Neil Warnock’s attacking options until January and challenge Marouane Chamakh, Dwight Gayle and Fraizer Campbell for a first-team place.
