Hunt: Aaron Hunt has joined Wolfsburg on a free transfer from Werder Bremen, signing a three-year contract with the northern Germany side. The 27-year-old attacking midfielder spent 13 years with Bremen before choosing not to extend his contract, which expires this summer. Wolfsburg have now reached an agreement with the former Germany Under-21 international, who has already made 215 Bundesliga appearances.

Charged: Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are facing disciplinary action over their behaviour during the Champions League final in Lisbon. Atletico coach Diego Simeone faces a hearing after he ran on to the pitch and was sent off by the referee near the end of extra time. Real midfielder Xabi Alonso, who could not play in the match because of suspension, has been charged with breaching general principles of conduct. Alonso’s charge is related to his conduct at the edge of the pitch.

Braga: Braga have announced the appointment of former Portugal winger Sergio Conceicao as their new coach. The 39-year-old, a title winner as a player with Porto and Lazio, has agreed a two-year contract, the club said on their official website. Conceicao, who won 56 caps for Portugal, was in charge of Academica this season.

Levante: Levante look to have severed ties with coach Joaquin Caparros after ending talks over a proposed new contract. Caparros joined Levante last summer and led the Valencia-based club to a creditable 10th-placed finish in the Primera Division, with highlights being victories over league champions Atletico Madrid and Europa League winners Sevilla.

Balakov: Litex Lovech have appointed Krasimir Balakov to replace Serbian Miodrag Jesic as coach on a two-year contract, the four-times Bulgarian champions said yesterday. Balakov, 48, who previously coached Swiss clubs Grasshoppers and St Gallen, Bulgaria’s Chernomorets Burgas, Croatia’s Hajduk Split and the German side Kaiserslautern, will be presented to the media on June 10.

Espanyol: Espanyol have named former Spain international Sergio Gonzalez as their new coach. The 37-year-old Sergio, who played for Espanyol at the start of his career and had been in charge of the club’s reserve side, has agreed a two-year contract to take over from Javier Aguirre. Aguirre left Espanyol at the end of last season after leading the club to a 14th-placed finish.
