Hillsborough: Twenty-two people have now been identified as suspects by two ongoing investigations into the Hillsborough disaster, including some who were not police officers. On Thursday, the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) confirmed 13 retired or serving police officers were now being regarded as suspects as part of its inquiry into the aftermath of the 1989 tragedy in Sheffield.

Amauri: Parma were told yesterday that striker Amauri will be allowed to play against Roma next Wednesday despite being handed a three-match ban for a red card at the Juventus Stadium in midweek. The match against Roma is a re-arranged fixture from February, called off after eight minutes because of bad weather.

Adebayor: Emmanuel Adebayor is a doubt for Tottenham’s trip to title-chasing Liverpool tomorrow. The Togolese striker will have a gash on his heel assessed before the trip to Anfield, although head coach Tim Sherwood is hopeful he will be fit to be part of the squad.

Fellaini: The FA has confirmed it will look into claims that Marouane Fellaini spat at Pablo Zabaleta during the Manchester derby on Tuesday. Footage on YouTube has emerged appearing to show Manchester United midfielder Fellaini spitting near to Zabaleta’s head while the City defender lay on the floor following a clash between the pair.

Friendlies: Asian champions Japan will play Costa Rica and Zambia in Florida in early June as their final warm-up matches before the World Cup in Brazil. Japan will play Cyprus at home in Saitama on May 27 before they travel to the United States ahead of the June 12-July 13 tournament in Brazil. Alberto Zaccheroni’s team will play the games against Costa Rica (June 2) and Zambia (June 6) at the Raymond James Stadium, home to National Football League’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
