Krkic: Ajax’s hopes domestically and in the Champions League have been hit by the news striker Bojan Krkic has been ruled out for up to six weeks with a hamstring injury. The 23-year-old sustained the injury early in Ajax’s 6-0 thrashing of Go Ahead Eagles at the weekend and is out until the middle of November.

Zuniga: Colombia international Juan Camilo Zuniga dashed rumours linking him with a move to Juventus or Barcelona by signing a five-year contract extention at Napoli, yesterday. “I love the club and the fans, while I am very happy living in Naples. I hope to end my career here,” Zuniga said.

Becchio: Leeds manager Brian McDermott has been unsuccessful in his initial bid to bring former striker Luciano Becchio back to Elland Road on loan. But McDermott has not given up all hope on Becchio after being told by Norwich counterpart Chris Hughton that the Argentinian forward was currently unavailable. McDermott said.

Taarabt: Midfielder Adel Taarabt has won a recall to the Morocco national team nine months after being asked to apologise for insulting the coach. Brady: Hull winger Robbie Brady has withdrawn from the Ireland squad that will face Germany and Kazakhstan due to a groin injury. The 21-year-old was called up by interim manager Noel King for next month’s World Cup qualifiers but has aggravated a groin complaint..
