Racism: Hungarian team Honved must play their next two Euro games behind closed doors because of racist behaviour by fans while Polish clubs Lech Poznan and Piast Gli-wice have been ordered to partially close their stadiums. Honved had been sanctioned because of “racist behaviour and racist chanting” by their fans during the Europa League qualifying match away to Serbia’s Vojvodina on July 18, UEFA said yesterday.

Buttner: Alexander Buttner has revealed that he is to discuss a new contract after being given assu-rances that he is a key part of David Moyes’s plans at Manchester United. Buttner made the move from Vitesse to Old Trafford on a five-year deal last summer but struggled to establish himself as a regular starter as Patrice Evra remained the first-choice left-back. “Last year I have had a good season and the club have seen that,” he said. “The club now want to talk about a new deal.”

Radu: Lazio will have to do without wing-back Stefan Radu for the next two months after it was confirmed that he had sustained a knee injury. Radu, 27, joined Lazio in 2008 from Din. Bucharest. He picked up the injury in training this week.

Demichelis: Manchester City’s new signing Martin Demichelis will be sidelined for around six weeks with a knee injury sustained in training. “The club doctor con-firmed a scan revealed ligament damage but that surgery was not required,” City said. Argentine Demichelis, who only left Atletico Madrid on Sunday, joins a growing list of injured defenders at Manchester City who are also without Vincent Kompany and Micah Richards.

Traore: Bakaye Traore has left Milan to play for Turkey’s Kayseri Erciyesspor, it was confirmed yes-terday. The Mali midfielder joined Kayseri on loan. The 28-year-old had joined Milan from Nancy last year but only featured in seven league games.

Herdman: The English FA has been dealt a blow in its search for a new women’s coach after rumoured leading contender John Herdman extended his deal with Canada. Herdman has in recent weeks intimated he would be open to offers from the FA to take charge of England in the wake of Hope Powell’s sacking following 15 years at the helm. However, the 38-year-old has now committed himself to Canada until 2020.
