Women’s Euro 2013: Germany suffered their first defeat in 20 years at the Euro women’s cham-pionship when they lost 1-0 to Norway yesterday. Norway finished top of Group B with the Germans as runners-up. In the group’s other game, Iceland beat Netherlands 1-0 to knock out the Dutch and qualify for the last eight as one of the best third-placed teams.

Digne: Paris St Germain have continued their summer spending by signing young French left-back Lucas Digne from Lille. The capital club announced last night the 20-year-old, who won the Under-20 World Cup earlier this month, had signed a five-year deal with the Ligue 1 champions.
Meade: Swansea have signed former Arsenal left-back Jernade Meade on a free transfer. Meade, 20, came through the youth ranks at Arsenal and started in the Champions League group game away to Olympiakos in December 2012, before leaving the Emirates Stadium in the summer at the end of his contract.
Mulumbu: West Brom midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu has signed a two-year contract extension with the club. The 26-year-old DR Congo international has become a key player for the Baggies since his arrival from PSG in January 2009, and has been rewarded with an improved deal which will keep him at the Hawthorns until 2016.
FA Cup: The FA Cup will be shown on the BBC and BT Sport while ITV has secured exclusive rights to England games from 2014, the FA has announced. Both the FA Cup and England deals will begin at the start of the 2014-15 season and run through to 2018. It will be a return for the FA Cup to the BBC for the first time since 2008.
