Hibs: Hibernian have completed the signings of Manchester City defender Ryan McGivern and Inverness midfielder Owain Tudur Jones. Northern Ireland left-back McGivern spent the last 12 months on loan at Easter Road but has now agreed a two-year deal with the Edinburgh club after City decided against renewing his contract. Tudur Jones is also heading for the capital after penning a two-year agreement.

Kaladze: Milan Glorie beat Friends4Kaladze 3-1 in a testi-monial match for Kakha Kaladze played late Friday in Georgia. The former defender retired from football to start a politician’s career after stints in Serie A with Milan and Genoa. Pippo Inzaghi and Andriy Shevchenko were among those on target.

Makiadi: Werder Bremen have completed their first signing of the summer by luring central midfielder Cedrick Makiadi from Bundesliga rivals Freiburg on a three-year contract. The 29-year-old, who impressed during the Black Forest club’s rise to a place in the Europa League next season, has made the move after Bremen made a sufficient bid to activate a release clause in the player’s contract.

Gervinho: Arsenal forward Gervinho has dismissed reports which say that he could be set to leave the club this summer after reports linking him with Turkish side Fenerbache and his former club Lille in France. “I have a contract until 2015 with Arsenal and I intend to honour it,” Gervinho said.

Welbeck: England striker Danny Welbeck will miss tonight’s friendly against Brazil in Rio with a knee problem. The Manchester United player also sat out Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with Ireland at Wembley but had hoped to recover in time to play in Brazil.
