New ground: Coventry have begun looking for a new ground to play their home games next season. The League One club remain at loggerheads with ACL, the owners of the Ricoh Arena, over unpaid rent and are now making contingency plans. Coventry moved to the 32,000-capacity Ricoh Arena from their old Highfield Road ground in 2005 but were relegated to League One seven years later.

Kruse: Fortuna Dusseldorf’s Robbie Kruse has revealed he is on the verge of a move to Bayer Leverkusen. The 24-year-old Australian has enjoyed a fine season with Dusseldorf, scoring four goals in 27 starts this season to prompt Bayer to exercise a release clause reportedly worth €1.5m. In Leverkusen, he could serve as a replacement for Andre Schurrle, who is expected to join Chelsea this summer.

Robson: Sunderland have confirmed the departure of chief scout Bryan Robson from the club. New manager Paolo Di Canio declined to comment on reports that the scouting system would be overhauled this week, but the Black Cats issued a statement yesterday announcing Robson is leaving with immediate effect.

Yeung: Birmingham City owner Carson Yeung failed to have charges of laundering more than $93 million thrown out yesterday after a judge rejected claims that the absence of some documents would make a fair trial impossible. The hairdresser-turned-tycoon has denied charges of “dealing with property known or believed to represent proceeds of an indictable offence” between 2001 and 2007.

Bility: The president of Liberia’s football association, Musa Bility, has been banned from all soccer activities for six months for using confidential Confederation of African Football (CAF) documents without permission. The docu-ments were executive committee minutes, but no further details of the decision were provided by CAF’s disciplinary committee. A $10,000 fine was also imposed on the Liberia FA.
