Invading fans: Kidderminster’s crucial final Premier fixture against Stockport was suspended early in the second half following an unsavoury incident at Aggborough. With both sides needing victory to keep their respective promotion and survival attempts alive, a number of Stockport fans raced on to the field after Anthony Malbon had given the hosts the lead in the 51st minute. The fans confronted players from both teams, forcing referee Michael Bull to take the sides from the pitch for safety reasons.

Molde: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Molde secured their first point of the season at the fifth attempt with a 1-1 draw at Odd yesterday but the 2012 Norwegian champions remain rooted to the bottom of the table. “I lost count of how many chances we had today,” former Manchester United striker Solskjaer said. “I’m pleased with the performance, I think it gave the team self-confidence.”

Baptistao: Rayo Vallecano striker Leo Baptistao suffered a broken collarbone during Friday night’s 1-1 draw at Real Mallorca. The Brazilian was substituted in the 65th minute of the Primera Division clash after hurting himself in a fall at the Iberostar Stadium.

In Japan: Omiya Ardija sealed a place in the J-League record books after extending their unbeaten run to 18 games with a 1-0 win over previously undefeated Urawa Red Diamonds. Zlatan Ljubijankic’s goal on the stroke of half-time earned Omiya victory and also saw them replace Urawa in second spot after seven rounds. Omiya, who last lost a league game in August, are now also the only team yet to taste defeat this season after league leaders Yokohama F. Marinos saw their perfect start come to an end with a surprise 1-0 loss at Albirex Niigata.

In Argentina: Newell’s Old Boys won 3-1 at title holders Velez Sarsfield, who suffered a scare at the final whistle when Ivan Bella collapsed in the middle of the pitch and had convulsions. Doctors stabilised Bella and an ambulance came onto the pitch to take him to a nearby hospital. “He’s under observation,” Velez coach Ricardo Gareca said after Newell’s snatched a one-point lead in Argentina’s “Final” championship.
