Morrison: West Ham midfielder Ravel Morrison has signed a season-long loan to Birmingham. The former Man. United trainee joined the Hammers on a three-and-a-half-year deal in January. Morrison, 19, made three league appearances for Alex Ferguson’s side before making the switch to Upton Park.

Afellay: Ibrahim Afellay’s agent says that the Dutch midfielder will not be leaving Barcelona this summer. Afellay has made just eight league starts since signing from PSV for in December 2010, leading to the player being linked with Arsenal and Inter. “People should not take all these rumours about an imminent transfer too serious,” agent Rob Jansen said. “Leaving Barcelona is not an option.”

Fatal crash: Twenty-three supporters of an Angolan premier league football team died and 29 others were injured when their speeding bus crashed after a game. The bus carrying 70 Kabuscorp fans crashed in the southern province Kwanza-Sul around 600 kilometres from Luanda last weekend.

Call-up: Northern Ireland have included Andrew Little and Dean Shiels in their squad to face Finland at Windsor Park on August 15. Rangers duo Little and Shiels will be playing in Scotland’s Third Division next season, but have been given a chance to prove they still belong on the international stage. David Healy, without a club having left Rangers, is out from the squad.

Rondon: Venezuelan striker Jose Salomon Rondon is to leave troubled Malaga for Russia’s Rubin Kazan. Rondon has signed a four-year contract, Rubin announced. The 22-year-old, who has 24 caps for his national side, was given leave not to join the club’s pre-season tour in Italy last week because he was negotiating his exit.

Fletcher: Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher is to train with the Scotland squad later this week as he continues with his battle to get back to full fitness. Scotland manager Craig Levein confirmed Fletcher is on his way back to playing competitive football for the first time since November.
