Rodriguez: Serie A newcomers Torino have signed defender Guillermo Rodriguez from Cesena. The Uruguayan had already been training with Torino since last week but during the weekend put pen to paper on a one-year contract with option to extend for a further two.
Deegan: Hibernian manager Pat Fenlon has signed Irish midfielder Gary Deegan from Coventry, a player who helped him to two League of Ireland titles at Bohemians. The 24-year-old has joined on a one-year deal to become Hibernian’s sixth summer signing. Fenlon had been trying to sign the player since becoming Hibs manager in November.
Terlizzi: Pescara continued to strengthen their squad with the transfer signing of Christian Terlizzi, a defender, from Varese. Terlizzi, 32, also played for Siena and Parma in his career and earned one cap for the national team.
Drogba: Didier Drogba scored his first two goals for new club Shanghai Shenzua as they dished out a 5-1 beating to Hangzhou last weekend. The visitors took the lead after seven minutes but Drogba levelled just two minutes later before adding a second goal at the 84-minute mark. Victory lifted Shanghai to eighth in the table.
Milan win: Robinho and Antonio Nocerino (two goals) were on the mark for Milan as they beat Honduras team CD Olimpia 3-1 in a Boston friendly late Saturday. Milan continued to shine in this pre-season friendly series with Antonio Cassano playing a key role in the Rossoneri win.
Seedorf: Clarence Seedorf was on the scoresheet as Botafogo recovered from a half-time deficit to beat Atletico Goianiense 2-1. Hosts Goianiense took the lead early on but 36-year-old Dutchman Seedorf levelled up the scores with his first goal for the club. Gabriel netted the winner for Botafogo.
