RODALLEGA: Fulham signed Hugo Rodallega on a free transfer yesterday after the Colombia striker opted not to renew his contract at Wigan. Rodallega has agreed a three-year deal with the west London club subject to a work permit. The 26-year-old spent the past three years with Wigan but decided to leave the DW Stadium when his contract expired last month.
TERRY: John Terry was left facing an anxious wait to discover if he will be found guilty of racially abusing QPR defender Anton Ferdinad after a judge heard closing arguments in the case yesterday. The case was adjourned until today, when Chief Magistrate Howard Riddle is expected to deliver his verdict.
COTTERILL: Nottingham Forest’s new owners have sacked manager Steve Cotterill, just two days after completing a takeover of the two-time European Champions. Fawaz Al Hasawi, a member of one of Kuwait’s richest families, bought Forest, now in English football’s second-tier Championship, with the assistance of his brothers on Tuesday. Cotterill left just nine months into a three-and-a-half-year deal he signed when replacing former England coach Steve McClaren in October.

European Championships for the Small States – Malta 80 Azer-baijan 70 (26-18, 23-14, 18-15, 13-23).
Malta notched their third successive win in Group A after easing past Azerbaijan 80-70 in Okhrid, Macedonia yesterday.
The result ensured that Santino Coppa’s girl progressed to the last four of the competition as group winners and will now face Austria in tomorrow’ s semi-finals.
Rebecca Brincat Thoresen was the leading scorer with 22 points.
