Lucio: Brazilian defender Lucio has left Inter by mutual consent with two years left on his contract. Inter said that the split with the 34-year-old had been “amicable and mutually agreed”. The Brazilian had been under contract until June 30, 2014, and played in 136 games, scoring five goals.

Newcastle: A delegation from Newcastle is currently in Holland to open talks with FC Twente over striker Luuk de Jong. Newcastle have already seen one bid of €10 million for De Jong rejected by Twente and they have now reported to upped that to €12 million. Reports said are standing firm over De Jong and want in excess of €15 million for their player.

Albrighton: Aston Villa winger Marc Albrighton has recovered from a thigh problem and will be fully fit for the start of pre-season training on July 5. Albrighton suffered the same setback on three separate occasions last season and missed the finale of the Premier League campaign. But he has been given the thumbs-up by Villa’s medical team after having the injury checked during the summer break.

Hoogland: Tim Hoogland has moved from Schalke to Bundesliga rivals Stuttgart on a one-year loan deal. The 27-year-old defender, who played for the Royal Blues between 1998 and 2007 before spending three years with Mainz, has a contract with Schalke until 2014 but has failed to become a regular in his second spell with the club.

Corluka: Tottenham announced that defender Vedran Corluka was to move to Lokomotiv Moscow. The 26-year-old joined Spurs from Manchester City in 2008.

Yakubu: Blackburn striker Ayegbeni Yakubu has completed his move to Chinese club Guangzhou for an undisclosed fee. The two clubs agreed a deal earlier this month and the former Everton striker has now signed a three-year contract in the Far East.

Watford: Watford’s takeover by the Pozzo family was completed yesterday. The Hornets revealed 10 days ago that they had agreed a deal in principle to sell to the Italians, who already own Udinese and Granada. And the formalities of the agreement have now been signed.
