Club 12: Rangers are set to be left off the fixture list for the forthcoming Scottish Premier League season, with ‘Club 12’ taking their place. The Glasgow club, champions in 2010-11 but now facing an uncertain future, announced the news yesterday on the eve of the publication of the SPL fixtures, which takes place this morning.

Zeman: New Roma coach Zdenek Zeman is recovering at home after a minor heart surgery at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome. Reports said the 65-year-old underwent tests and had a stent implanted to widen narrow arteries. Heavy smoker Zeman was kept in hospital for two days for observation.

Training venue: England will not be able to train at the Donbass Arena in Donetsk today ahead of their Euro 2012 clash with co-hosts Ukraine. Although the pitch recovered sufficiently from a violent thunderstorm for France to complete their win over Ukraine on Friday, there has been some damage. UEFA have asked England not to hold a pre-match session on the pitch as scheduled. Instead, they will train in Krakow.

Stoppelkamp: Hannover have sold forward Moritz Stoppelkamp to ambitious second division side 1860 Munich for an undisclosed fee. The 25-year-old requested a transfer after the Lions made their approach and the Bundesliga club accepted the offer for the former Rot Weiss Oberhausen forward, who moved to Lower Saxony in 2010.

Kaka: Rumours are rife in Italy that Kaka could return to Milan just three years after his €70m move to Real Madrid. The Brazilian striker has suffered from a series of injuries in Spain and according to Corriere dello Sport, Kaka is now looking to terminate his contract at the Spanish champions and Milan will be his next destination.

Old fixture: England will take on Scotland at Wembley in August 2013 as part of the FA’s 150th anniversary celebrations. The match revives the oldest fixture on the international calendar, first played in 1872. England have met the ‘old enemy’ on 110 previous occasions, but not since November 1999 when the Scots prevailed thanks to a solitary goal from Don Hutchison.
